What is macro economics?

The word Macro comes from the Greek word “Makros”. Macro means larger. Macro Economics discusses not about an individual or individual institution rather it discusses about the economy of a country as a whole. That means different economic problems are not individual or separately addressed rather these are discussed collectively. The main objective of macro economics is to analyze the total economic system as a whole.

Economist Boulding said, “Macro economics deals not with individual quantities but with aggregate quantities, not with individual income, but with national income, not with individual price but with national output”.
Economist Augbum said, “Macro Economics is a branch of economics which deals with economy as a whole”.

In short the branch of economics which deals with the analysis of economic behaviors as a whole then it is termed as Macro Economics.
