Functions of Computer Buses

The major functions of computer buses –

  1. Data Sharing : Sharing data between computer CPU and peripheral devices. The buses transfer or send data in either serial or parallel method of data transfer.
  2. Addressing : Bus address lines allows data to be sent or from specific memory locations.
  3. Power : Bus supplies power to various peripherals connected to it.
  4. Timing : Bus provides a system clock signal to synchronize the peripheral devices attached to it.
