Computer Bus

Computer Bus is a common pathway that flows information from one computer component to another computer component for communication purposes.

Types of Computer Bus

Computer has two major types of buses.

1. System bus: It connects the CPU to the main memory. It is also known as memory bus, local bus, host bus or front-side bus.
2. I/O Buses: It connects various peripheral devices to the CPU. The devices are connected via a ‘bridge’. These buses are also known as expansion bus, external bus etc.
