Types of Barcode Readers

Generally there are two types of Barcodes –

• Linear barcode
• 2D barcode.

And Four types of Barcode readers.

• Pen Barcode reader : consists of LED light and a photodiode in its tip.
• Laser Barcode reader : A laser scanner, a laser beam is shot at a mirror inside the actual unit.
• CCD Barcode reader : Charge Coupled Device, shor directly onto a barcode and a sensor measures the reflection and voltage of the ambient light in front of each bulb.
• 2D Camera Barcode reader : consists of hundreds of tiny lights like the CCD scanner.
